  1. I agree with your sentiments. Apple fan here, but locking Adobe out of the room and then claiming Flash is slow/unreliable is disingenuous at best.

It's all about protecting their AOL-style app store. ie: Lock the users in and make the real internet hard to reach...

  2. The experience of being descended upon by a pack of NIGYSOB social shut-ins online is not exclusive to this. Good admins will call "time" before it degenerates from entertaining to abusive spitballing.

  3. Mark, I can understand your frustration. But why should Apple have to help Adobe with Flash? Shouldnt Adobe do that themselves?
And if a Mac without Flash is a market failure, then Apple will team up with Adobe, as you like to say.
Unfortunately for Adobe, the iPhone has been a huge success WITHOUT Flash. Adobe now has to impress Apple with how much better Flash is.
Flash 10.1 only came out a couple of months ago and it is still nowhere near perfect.

Apple on the other hand is trying to push HTML5, an open standard, which anyone, including Adobe can use. Why should they have to wait for Adobe anymore?

As for whether the iPad should run Flash or not (to get the whole browsing experience), shouldnt the market be the judge?
